KNOWLEDGE UPGRADE SERIES

title_block23

The fast pace of technology change is playing out in today’s network infrastructures. They’re bigger – much bigger. They operate at light-speed. And user expectations about the devices that connect to those networks are a fast-moving target!

When you support a diverse campus with demands that range from ‘smart’ medical equipment to college students with bright ideas of their own, how do you please all of the people all of the time? What does your network look like when some of your users are literally up a tree? How do you manage the computing and telecommunications needs of thousands of users, while ensuring the security of everything that’s flying through that gigabyte network?

We welcome Dave Lewis, CIO of the University of Rochester; David Smith, IS Director at Lewis Tree Service; and Chris Teumer, Vice President of Information Technology at Jewish Senior Life, to Digital Rochester’s Knowledge Upgrade. We’ll hear about their experiences in running very large networks with diverse demands – and reserve some time for them to answer your questions about the ways that rapid-paced technology changes are both aiding and challenging them in the workplace.
